Building Blocks

At All About Dance our 'Building Blocks' early childhood program has been specially designed to provide the younger pre-school student an introduction to the dance experience that is fun, exciting and developmentally sound as they are gently lead into the classroom and dance curriculum.  This highly successful program is designed to build on the developmental skills and needs of each specific age group in a stress free environment.  Our Building Blocks program will aid in their physical, social, and emotional development as they are prepared in the basics of classroom behavior, taking turns, working together, spatial awareness and motor skills, just to name a few.  Many opportunities are provided for engaging creativity and sensory experiences as they learn with fun, age appropriate music and props, song and dance.  As the student matures, other important components of a child's development are emphasized in our positive, upbeat learning environments that will help as they acquire self-awareness and self-esteem while bringing them the joy of accomplishment.

ME AND MY SHADOW  18 mos - 3 years

It's better with someone special!

This is an 8 week gentle intro into the classroom experience with the support of a familiar individual such as Mommy/Daddy/Guardian.  This offers the parent or care-giver some one-on-one time to share in the experience and joy of learning together.  Class meets once-a-week for 8 weeks; 45 minutes.  Many of our students like it so much, they sign up for a second and third course.

KINDERCISE  3-4 years

Enchanted beginnings!

Our kindercise curriculum will ease the child into the classroom environment while learning beginning dance concepts, locomotor and non-locomotor skills, musical awareness and rhythmic coordination, along with tumbling and beginning gymnastic skills.  This class meets once-a-week for 1 hour.  It is offered as a year-round curriculum or can be taken as an 8 week course.

KINDERTAP  4 years

Off to a great start!

This too is an easy introduction into the classroom setting.  They begin to master locomotor skills, along with developing balance and coordination, rhythm and musicality.  They will begin basic tap skills such as heel digs, shuffles, shuffle steps, simple flaps.  This is a year long class that meets once-a-week for 1 hour.

Exploring more fully!

These classes will build on the same concepts but with a little more challenge.  They are separated into a single genre as they focus more on sequencing of movements and become more familiar with the concept of opposition. We offer Tot Bop, Tot Tap, Tot Ballet and Tot Acro classes that meet for 45 minutes per week.
